SkyDance Bridge

Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

SkyDance Pedestrian Bridge stretches 197 feet in the air above the newly minted Interstate 40 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. It is 386 feet long and 20 feet wide. The steel sculpture design is intended to represent Oklahoma's state bird, the Scissor-tailed Flycatcher. The pedestrian bridge structure includes 800 cubic yards of concrete and 200,000 pounds of reinforcing steel. The 86-ton bird sculpture sits upon the 412-ton steel pedestrian bridge. An LED lighting system illuminates the bird at night to welcome downtown visitors.
