HOUSTON – Manhattan Construction Co. will be hosting their 14th Annual Charity Golf Classic on Friday October 10, 2014 at Cypresswood Golf Club in Spring, Texas. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) Houston chapter for ALS research.
Collectively, this annual golf event has raised more than half a million dollars for MDA’s ALS research program and the team has set a goal to raise another $100,000 this year. Throughout the years many of Houston’s premier architectural, engineering and construction industry partners have participate and provided support for the golf event.
About Manhattan’s Charity Golf Classic
The tournament was originally conceived by Manhattan team members during the construction of what is now known as NRG Stadium in Houston. A team member of one of the subcontractors on the project was diagnosed with ALS, which ultimately took his life. The Manhattan Construction project team, led by Project Executive Duane Duffy, organized the company’s first golf classic 14 years ago in honor of this industry partner and friend. Today, Manhattan continues to honor this colleague’s legacy by raising money for ALS research to find a cure for this devastating disease.
About The Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA)
The Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) is a national voluntary health agency dedicated to fighting 43 neuromuscular diseases through an unparalleled research effort, public health education and a wide array of medical services. MDA provides services to families like support groups, equipment, clinic visits and summer camp for children.
Through supporting MDA, donors can help make a difference in the lives of families living with a neuromuscular disease and give them hope for the future as researchers diligently search for a cure.
