CIMA Hospital - Costa Rica

Centro Internacional de Medicina (CIMA) is a healthcare facility that includes a three-story, 100-bed hospital with a seven-floor medical office and general services building and a 350-car parking area. It is a full-service hospital, with innovative systems new to Costa Rica. All of the structures of the project are built of reinforced concrete for seismic conditions. It has a 1,250 KW emergency power plant, a 50,000-gallon water storage tank and an energy management HVAC system that optimizes energy use in combination with the low-emisivity insulated glass. El hospital CIMA es un grupo de varios edificios incluyendo un hospital de 100 camas, un edificio de oficinas medícales y servicios generales, y un estacionamiento. El hospital CIMA es un hospital a servicio completo y posee sistemas innovadores que son nuevos a Costa Rica. Todas las estructuras son construidas de concreto reforzado para sostener condiciones sísmicas. Tiene una central eléctrica de emergencia de 1.250 kilovatios, un tanque de almacenaje del agua de 189.270 litros y un sistema de aire acondicionado que optimice uso de la energía conjuntamente con el vidrio aislado de baja emisión.

Hospital Metropolitano is the first new hospital built in Nicaragua in 40 years. The project consisted of a three-story, 98,587 square foot Medical Center Hospital, a three-story, 29,062 square foot Professional Office Building and an 8,826 square foot independent one-story Burn Center. The medical center has full diagnostic and treatment services including Emergency, Surgery, Obstetrics, Endoscopies, Physical Medicine and non-invasive cardiology. The Professional Office Building houses hospital and admitting functions, educational and meeting spaces, and has medical offices for 40 physicians. El hospital Metropolitano era el primer hospital nuevo construido en Nicaragua en 40 años. El proyecto consistió en un centro médico de tres pisos (9.159 metros cuadrados), un edificio de oficinas de profesionales de tres pisos (2.699 metros cuadrados) y un centro de quemadura independiente de un piso (819 metros cuadrados). El centro médico tiene todo los servicios de diagnóstico y de tratamiento incluyendo emergencia, de cirugía, de obstetricia, endoscopia, medicina física y cardiología sin invasión. El edificio de oficinas de profesionales tiene funciones de hospital y admisión, espacio para la educación y hacer negocios, y tiene oficinas médicas para 40 médicos.

Memorial Hermann Hospital The New Pavilion - Houston, Texas

The New Pavilion project adds 806,000 square feet of floor space to the existing Hermann Hospital System. The project includes a 12-level bed tower plus two levels below grade, a four-level atrium with a metal framed skylight system, a new two-level entry and covered drop-off area to the existing Jones Pavilion with extensive renovations to the existing Cullen Pavilion and built the new pedestrian bridge. Manhattan provided pre-construction and construction services for this project and through value engineering substantially lowered the cost for this repeat client’s benefit. Manhattan was recognized by Texas Construction Magazine with an “Award of Excellence” in the Outstanding Private Building category for work on this project.

Walter Reed Army Institute of Research Phase II - Forest Glen, Maryland

This facility is home to the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research, and the Naval Medical Research Center. The 474,000 square foot facility provides research for infectious disease, combat casualty care, operational medicine, and chemical / biological defense. Included within the building are 130 laboratories (that range from Chemistry-Pharmacology to BL-3). Manhattan received recognition for "a job well done" from the Department of Army, Baltimore District Corps of Engineers' "Live Safety Program" and a final performance rating of “Outstanding.” The project received two ABC Excellence in Construction Awards and two Washington Building Congress Craftsmanship Awards.

St. John Medical Center Campus Expansion - Tulsa, Oklahoma

The St. John Medical Center Expansion consists of three new structures - a 198,000 square foot, 15-story Williams Medical Center building, the eight-story, 190,000 square foot Siegfried Building, and a multi-story, 21st Street Parkade, with a 524,000 square foot parking structure which accommodates 1,800 vehicles. A portion of the top level is secondary helipad for the hospital. Additional scope included a pedestrian air-bridge and a power and maintenance addition. Manhattan received the “Award of Excellence” from the Associated Builders and Contractors for work performed on this project.

The George Washington University Hospital is a 450,000 square foot, six-story acute care replacement hospital on a triangular city block in historic Foggy Bottom. Manhattan overcame the constricted site conditions including curb to curb work on three sides with the fourth side being blocked by a Metro Station putting special staging and public safety measures in place. Manhattan received the Associated Builder and Contractor’s Award of Excellence and the Washington Building Congress Craftsmanship Award for Masonry for this project.

The Memorial Hermann Southeast Hospital Professional Office Building II is a four-story, 102,000 square foot structural steel frame building with a precast and glass exterior. This new building is located in the heart of the main parking for the existing hospital and the site coordination to minimize disruptions was a critical aspect to the construction of this building in a record eight months. Included with the construction of the building was the addition of a new 500-car surface parking area, reconfiguration of all the existing parking lots, and new site lighting/ security while the hospital continued to serve their patients needs.

University of Oklahoma Tulsa Schusterman Medical Research Clinic & Parking Garage - <span class=\"location\">Tulsa, Oklahoma</span>

University of Oklahoma Tulsa Schusterman Medical Research Clinic & Parking Garage - Tulsa, Oklahoma

This facility houses the research and medical clinic for the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine in Tulsa. The 98,000 square foot project includes a three-story medical clinic with an open atrium and three-level parking garage. The building includes clinical services for Internal Medicine, Pediatrics and Psychiatry and provides a multi-clinical facility for Surgery, Women's Health Services and an after-hours clinic. Manhattan received the “Excellence In Construction” award from the Associated Builders and Contractors for this project.

Morton Health Care Center - <span class=\"location\">Tulsa, Oklahoma</span>

Morton Health Care Center - Tulsa, Oklahoma

The Morton Health Center project is a 60,000 square foot state-of-the-art medical center. The new health center and training facility is designed with a two-story steel frame structure with a brick and glass exterior. Brick features, inlays, and a curved atrium roof are introduced to be somewhat reminiscent of a West African Kente cloth. The facility includes a museum and conference center. The facility serves as a place to treat patients with or without health insurance.

Manhattan received an “Award of Excellence” from the Associated Builders and Contractors for this project.

This project is a replacement hospital for Memorial Hermann's existing Fort Bend Hospital. This new full-service facility is located on a 24-acre site. The five-story, 77-bed hospital contains approximately 221,000 square feet of space complete with a central plant, site work and parking for 1,100 cars. Manhattan received “Award of Merit” the Associated Builders and Contractors and also an "Award of Merit” by Texas Construction Magazine for work on this project.

The Saint Francis Children's Hospital project is a 243,500 square foot structure which contains 104 private rooms and provides medical/surgical capabilities, pediatric intensive care services, and inpatient/outpatient infusion therapies for children. The project includes three "Parent Rooms" for families to stay on-site, 14 pediatric recovery suites for post-surgical care and specialized units for General Pediatrics, Oncology/Hematology, Pediatric Surgery, Pediatric Intensive Care and Pediatric Cardiology.

Longhorn Village is a mixed use, master-planned continuing care retirement community including an Independent Living Building containing 173 residential units in two apartment building wings with a centrally-located commons area which includes kitchen, dining, recreational and other common facilities; and a Health Care Building containing 20 assisted living units, 60 private skilled nursing beds, 16 memory support units, and administrative offices.

University of Oklahoma Cancer Institute - Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

The seven-story, 220,000 square foot OU Cancer Institute is located on the OU Health Sciences Center campus in Oklahoma City. The landmark facility accommodates teach, research, clinical trials, counseling, support care, and a comprehensive and sophisticated selection of diagnostic and therapeutic technologies. The facility's combination of available treatment services makes it the only one of its kind in the state and surrounding region. Manhattan was chosen to provide pre-construction services for the project, which also includes a 1,000-car parking garage and a pedestrian bridge to the OU Physicians building across the street.
