Oklahoma State Capitol Dome - Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

When Manhattan completed the original Capitol Building in 1919, budget constraints and a shortage of building materials did not allow for a dome to be constructed. Nevertheless, the necessary foundations to support a dome were added at that time in hopes that one day a dome would be added. Construction of the 80-foot diameter by 140-foot high done began in April 2001 and was completed by Nov. 16, 2002, Statehood Day. The dome is steel super structure, architectural pre-cast concrete and architectural cast stone and the inner dome is reinforced with plaster casts. This project recieved the National Design-Build Award from the Design-Build Institute of America.

Mobile Convention Center - Mobile, Alabama

The Mobile Convention Center is a City-owned development project located on the existing waterfront and port docking area along the Mobile River. This project, which is located on a historic waterfront site, required a unique design to facilitate construction projecting into the river, over an existing mainline railroad track and adjacent to an existing highway river tunnel. The project consists of a three-level building that encompasses 100,000 square feet of exhibit space, 94,000 square feet of meeting and ballroom space, 123,000 square feet of service and administrative support area, and 200,000 square feet of parking and outdoor terrace areas.

Ambassador Hotel - Tulsa, Oklahoma

The Ambassador Hotel renovation included the entire 10-story, 52,000 square foot building as well as renovation of an award winning restaurant, "The Chalkboard", located on the lower level. The renovation removed the Hotel from Preservation Oklahoma's list of Oklahoma's Most Endangered Historic Properties. The project team collaborated on the design and construction techniques in order to achieve maximum economies, ensure material availability and workforce expertise as well as speed of construction in dealing with a severely deteriorated existing building.

Oklahoma State University Gallagher-Iba Arena Expansion and Renovation - Stillwater, Oklahoma

The award-winning Gallagher-Iba Arena Expansion project required a new facility to be built over the existing arena. The new expansion area was to encapsulate the old facility while maintaining use of the old arena. The expansion increased the seating capacity to a maximum of approximately 13,000 seats. The project includes new and renovated spaces for coaches, administrative staff, vendors, janitorial services, locker rooms, toilet rooms and showers for men and women's athletes, training and strength conditioning facilities.

St. John Medical Center Campus Expansion - Tulsa, Oklahoma

The St. John Medical Center Expansion consists of three new structures - a 198,000 square foot, 15-story Williams Medical Center building, the eight-story, 190,000 square foot Siegfried Building, and a multi-story, 21st Street Parkade, with a 524,000 square foot parking structure which accommodates 1,800 vehicles. A portion of the top level is secondary helipad for the hospital. Additional scope included a pedestrian air-bridge and a power and maintenance addition. Manhattan received the “Award of Excellence” from the Associated Builders and Contractors for work performed on this project.

The Tulsa Historical Society project included the restoration and expansion of the Travis Mansion. The 11,000 square foot existing mansion was expanded to a total of 27,000 square feet with a two-story, steel-framed addition. Both buildings house museum exhibits, although one is a more traditional museum environment while the existing building retains the look of a residence. Manhattan received the “Award of Excellence” from the Associated Builders and Contractors for this project.

QuikTrip Corporate Campus - <span class=\"location\">Tulsa, Oklahoma</span>

QuikTrip Corporate Campus - Tulsa, Oklahoma

This campus project included a 170,000 square foot, two and three-story structure organized into three connecting wings which converge at a two-level, common lobby area. The masonry used was a local sandstone called "Oklahoma Sweetwater." The project's masonry was work recognized by the Construction Specifications Institute for outstanding masonry craftsmanship. The project also included a free standing, single-story, 7,500 square foot building located on the southwest corner of the 40-acre site. For this project, Manhattan received the “Award of Excellence” from the Associated Builders and Contractors and the “Build Oklahoma” award from the Associated General Contractors.

The site is approximately 130 acres of rolling forest and grassland. The major functions located on the site include the Ministries of Jesus Building, A Worship Center, a Family Life Center, an Adult Education Center, a Youth Worship Center, a Children's Education Center, Church Offices and a Chapel. Manhattan received the “Award of Excellence” from the Associated Builders and Contractors for work on this project.

The new Oklahoma History Center project is divided into two phases, both constructed by Manhattan. Phase I included construction of the 233,000 building structure, envelope and all site improvements. Phase II work included the interior finish out of the structure. The building houses archive storage, offices, a two research libraries, auditorium, administrative staff and photo storage and three galleries. Manhattan received the “Build Oklahoma Award” from the Associated General Contractors for this project.

The 80,000 square foot Music Center doubled the size of the facilities for the OCU School of Music, which includes the music, dance and drama departments. The school features state-of-the-art classrooms, practice halls, workshops, 41 teaching studios, 60 practice rooms, seven ensemble rehearsal spaces and a structure for set construction. Manhattan provided a constructability review, cost estimating, pre-construction and general contracting for the building, which is designed for acoustical performance and to eliminate noise and vibration.

University of Oklahoma Gaylord Hall College of Journalism and Mass Communications - Norman, Oklahoma

The 61,000 square foot Gaylord Hall features the traditional collegiate gothic elements of OU's most historic buildings. It was designed to incorporate the latest in technology for teaching print and broadcast journalists and to accommodate future technological developments. The project included a central atrium with skylight, auditorium, audio/video facilities, classrooms, three computer rooms and a television studio. The structures are steel frame construction with light gauge metal curtain walls with a brick veneer and cast stone.

The Cox Communications project is an 110,000 square foot, two-story facility with roughly 75,000 square feet of office space and 35,000 square feet of warehouse space. The building is located on approximately 15 acres and has parking for 605 vehicles. The facility is split in two areas; the office and warehouse operations. The facility includes several new training areas, a call center, offices, warehouse, service dispatch, production studio, human resources, and a retail space where customers can pay their bills.

The Bank of Oklahoma Events Center project is an iconic, 570,000 square foot, 18,000-seat events center, designed by world-renowned architect Cesar Pelli. The BOK Center hosts local hockey and arena football teams as well as premier entertainment events. Amenities of the facility include 37 luxury suites, 130,000 square feet of terrazzo flooring with aggregate containing 70% mother of pearl, one of the nation's most advanced scoreboards, and artwork from five local artists that decorates the interior. The project team received the “Excellence In Construction” award from the Associated Builders and Contractors for work on this project.

This facility houses the research and medical clinic for the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine in Tulsa. The 98,000 square foot project includes a three-story medical clinic with an open atrium and three-level parking garage. The building includes clinical services for Internal Medicine, Pediatrics and Psychiatry and provides a multi-clinical facility for Surgery, Women's Health Services and an after-hours clinic. Manhattan received the “Excellence In Construction” award from the Associated Builders and Contractors for this project.

The Morton Health Center project is a 60,000 square foot state-of-the-art medical center. The new health center and training facility is designed with a two-story steel frame structure with a brick and glass exterior. Brick features, inlays, and a curved atrium roof are introduced to be somewhat reminiscent of a West African Kente cloth. The facility includes a museum and conference center. The facility serves as a place to treat patients with or without health insurance.

The Cascia Performing Arts Center includes a 700-seat, 24,000 square foot bi-level auditorium and 10,000 square feet of new classroom space. The complex is outfitted with new men’s and ladies' locker rooms and connects to the existing Upper School Gym. The exterior relates well to the French Norman style of the rest of the buildings on campus. Clinker style brick forms the façade of the new auditorium and 30-foot high bronze colored windows line the lobby area and entryway.

The Saint Francis Children's Hospital project is a 243,500 square foot structure which contains 104 private rooms and provides medical/surgical capabilities, pediatric intensive care services, and inpatient/outpatient infusion therapies for children. The project includes three "Parent Rooms" for families to stay on-site, 14 pediatric recovery suites for post-surgical care and specialized units for General Pediatrics, Oncology/Hematology, Pediatric Surgery, Pediatric Intensive Care and Pediatric Cardiology.

The Edith Kinney Gaylord Center project included a 19,000 square foot addition and a 40,000 square foot remodel of the existing School of Dance. Scope of work included eight (8) dance studios, locker room facilities, and office space for students, faculty and staff. The project was composed of a 19,000 square-foot new addition, the remodel of the upper level of the existing building, re-roofing of the existing building, the remodel of the lower level of the existing building.

The Tom & Brenda McDaniel University Center project included the remodel of 54,000 square feet in the existing Student Faculty Center at Oklahoma City University. This project included a new bookstore, cafeteria, computer lab, offices, IT server room, mailroom and ballroom. Included in the scope of work is an upgrade to the entire building to meet ADA requirements.

The three-phase renovation and addition to the Tulsa Ballet's facilities was completed while the space was fully-occupied. Manhattan's cost estimating, pre-construction and general contracting services included the renovation of the existing 38,000 square foot facility, 16,000 square feet of new construction, a new loading dock entrance, geothermal heating/cooling system installation and parking lot reconstruction. The aggressive, 18-month schedule included the construction of the 300-seat Kivisto Hall/Studio K theater.

With 168 acres spanning across the intersection of the states of Oklahoma, Kansas and Missouri, the Quapaw Tribe of Oklahoma's newest casino/resort features a 350,000 square foot casino, 220-room, 14-story hotel and 2,000 ground parking spaces. The first of this multi-phase project was completed in a record ten months and twenty-six days by Manhattan, which provided pre-construction and general contracting. The casino houses 2,000 machines, 60 gaming tables, 27,000 square feet of office space, entertainment stages and restaurant and bar areas.

First Council Casino - Newkirk, Oklahoma

The First Council Casino is a 68,000 square foot structural steel building with prefabricated EIFS walls. The gaming floor includes approximately 700 gaming machines, a full-service restaurant and buffet, and a performance stage. The outside entrance area includes a large bronze statue to signify the "first council meeting." This project was constructed under a fast-tracked schedule in just over six months. The schedule requirements did not compromise the quality of the finished product.

University of Oklahoma Cancer Institute - Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

The seven-story, 220,000 square foot OU Cancer Institute is located on the OU Health Sciences Center campus in Oklahoma City. The landmark facility accommodates teach, research, clinical trials, counseling, support care, and a comprehensive and sophisticated selection of diagnostic and therapeutic technologies. The facility's combination of available treatment services makes it the only one of its kind in the state and surrounding region. Manhattan was chosen to provide pre-construction services for the project, which also includes a 1,000-car parking garage and a pedestrian bridge to the OU Physicians building across the street.
