River Center - San Antonio, Texas
Located on four blocks in the San Antonio City Business District, the 13.1-acre site of the River Center features an extension of the San Antonio Riverwalk into a river-turning basin, which is used as the focal point for this retail and hotel complex. This mixed-use development includes over 500,000 square feet of retail space, two parking structures, the construction of the river extension and Commerce Street Bridge.
Bush Presidential Library Complex - College Station, Texas
The Bush Presidential Library Complex consists of the George Bush Presidential Library and Museum; the School of Government and Public Service; and the Presidential Conference Center. The combined buildings total 301,000 square feet on 95 acres on the west side of the Texas A&M campus. Manhattan received the “National Excellence in Construction Award” from the Associated Builders and Contractors for their work on this project. Pre-construction and general construction services were provided on this project.
Memorial Hermann Hospital The New Pavilion - Houston, Texas
The New Pavilion project adds 806,000 square feet of floor space to the existing Hermann Hospital System. The project includes a 12-level bed tower plus two levels below grade, a four-level atrium with a metal framed skylight system, a new two-level entry and covered drop-off area to the existing Jones Pavilion with extensive renovations to the existing Cullen Pavilion and built the new pedestrian bridge. Manhattan provided pre-construction and construction services for this project and through value engineering substantially lowered the cost for this repeat client’s benefit. Manhattan was recognized by Texas Construction Magazine with an “Award of Excellence” in the Outstanding Private Building category for work on this project.
Harris County Criminal Justice Center - Houston, Texas
Manhattan provided pre-construction and general contracting services for this project. The Harris County Criminal Justice Center is a 21-story, cast-in-place concrete structure, which includes 800,000 square feet. The scope of work included an additional 41 new courtrooms to the existing judicial system. Each courtroom floor has a central secure holding area for prisoner containment during trials.
New Orleans Sports Arena - New Orleans, Louisiana
This state-of-the-art, 650,000 square foot sports facility is a compilation of concrete, steel, and glass in a unique design reflecting contemporary style and functionality. The five-story glass curtainwall on the north and east elevations creates a picturesque window of downtown New Orleans. Attractive burnished block was used in the common areas in warm earthtones. The exclusive Club Level, including bar, concessions, large event area and office center, combines the burnished block with cherry-stained panels and exposed concrete columns and ceilings for an eclectic atmosphere.
1200 Baker Street Jail - Houston, Texas
Manhattan provided design-build services on the 1200 Baker Street Jail project which included 603,000 square feet of maximum-security jail space. The 4,156 bed, six-level jail includes 480 single-bed cells, 96 separation and super segregation cells, 1,632 multiple occupancy beds, 1,824 dormitory beds and 124 medical beds with a 176-space basement level employee parking area and 234 spaces of street-level parking.
Reliant Stadium - Houston, Texas
The new 69,000 seat Reliant Stadium is home to the National Football League's Houston Texans, the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, and other community events. The building accommodates 7,500 club seats and over 150 private suites with VIP patrons having separate access. The project has the first retractable roof in the NFL, which is skinned in translucent fabric that rides on two large super trusses that span the length of the building. Manhattan received an “Award of Excellence” from the Associated Builders and Contractors for work performed on this project.
L'Auberge du Lac Hotel & Casino - Lake Charles, Louisiana
The L'Auberge du Lac Hotel & Casino consists of a new 26-story, 770,000 square foot, 743-room, four-star hotel with themed entry drive, porte cochere, and five restaurants: a gourmet restaurant, a 400-seat buffet, 24-hour La-Café, Noodle Bar featuring Asian fusion cuisine and Jack Daniels Bar & Grille, a high-energy night club. The resort also provides 60 gaming tables, 1,600 slot machines, full-service spa and work out area, retail shop areas, and ballroom with pre-function and meeting rooms. Also included is surface parking for 2,094 vehicles for both public and valet parking and a five level cast-in-place, 438,250 square foot, parking structure accommodating 1,340 cars.
Memorial Hermann Southeast Professional Office Building II - Houston, Texas
The Memorial Hermann Southeast Hospital Professional Office Building II is a four-story, 102,000 square foot structural steel frame building with a precast and glass exterior. This new building is located in the heart of the main parking for the existing hospital and the site coordination to minimize disruptions was a critical aspect to the construction of this building in a record eight months. Included with the construction of the building was the addition of a new 500-car surface parking area, reconfiguration of all the existing parking lots, and new site lighting/ security while the hospital continued to serve their patients needs.
Scott & White Memorial Hospital Center For Advanced Medicine - Temple, Texas
Scott & White Memorial Hospital Center for Advanced Medicine represents a major expansion for the existing hospital. The scope of work included both five and eight-story medical towers totaling 520,000 square feet. Manhattan received an “Award of Excellence” from the Associated Builders and Contractors for this project.
Memorial Hermann Sugar Land Replacement Hospital - Sugar Land, Texas
This project is a replacement hospital for Memorial Hermann's existing Fort Bend Hospital. This new full-service facility is located on a 24-acre site. The five-story, 77-bed hospital contains approximately 221,000 square feet of space complete with a central plant, site work and parking for 1,100 cars. Manhattan received “Award of Merit” the Associated Builders and Contractors and also an "Award of Merit” by Texas Construction Magazine for work on this project.
University of Houston - Downtown Academic Building and Parking Structure - Houston, Texas
The University of Houston Academic Building and Parking Garage features a 132,000 square foot building with 44 classrooms, four computer labs, lecture halls, library, lounges and over 100 faculty and support offices. The new building and the 620 space, 250,000 square foot, garage is constructed on a three-acre site. This facility was designed following sustainable principles of the U.C. Green Building Council. Manhattan delivered the project on time in an accelerated schedule of 18 months.
Alvin Community College Science/Health Science Building - Alvin, Texas
Alvin Community College Science/Health Science Building project is a two-story, 98,790 square foot educational facility. The building includes four teaching theaters, an ambulance bay, 22 labortories including a simulation lab, modern skills and science labs and 17 lecture classrooms. The Associate Degree and Vocational Nursing, Diagnostic Cardiovascular Sonography, Emergency Medical Technology, Respiratory Care and all science programs will consolidate into the new building.
Harris County Parking Garage Phase II Vertical Expansion - Houston, Texas
This project consisted of adding five new levels of parking (793 spaces) on top of an existing seven-level fully operational parking garage in downtown Houston, Texas. The existing parking garage remained open during construction. The parking garage is a 233,600 square foot cast-in-place structure with post tension flat slab and 60-foot-long span beams.
Energy Center Office Building - Phase I - Houston, Texas
The Energy Center Office Building Phase I project is a 13-story Commercial Class A office building, and an eight-story parking garage. Manhattan won the Associated Builders and Contractors' Excellence in Construction Award in the Commercial category for work on this project. Energy Center I is one of the first projects developed in a national office development program between Trammell Crow Company and Principal Real Estate Investors. This project has recieved Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®) Silver Certification.
Longhorn Village - Austin, Texas
Longhorn Village is a mixed use, master-planned continuing care retirement community including an Independent Living Building containing 173 residential units in two apartment building wings with a centrally-located commons area which includes kitchen, dining, recreational and other common facilities; and a Health Care Building containing 20 assisted living units, 60 private skilled nursing beds, 16 memory support units, and administrative offices.
