Knapp and Kreis

Manhattan Construction Co., a top nationally-ranked construction firm, is pleased to announce two new leadership appointments.

George Kreis, Senior Vice President – Washington DC

George Kreis has joined Manhattan Construction Co. as senior vice president of the Washington DC area. He will oversee the company’s Arlington, Virginia office and lead client engagement, pre-construction and construction services for the Mid-Atlantic region.

With 30 years of construction industry experience, Kreis has served in executive leadership roles throughout his career and led client development, pre-construction, and risk management processes. He has been involved with mega-projects in the Mid-Atlantic area including Gallery Place, National WWII Memorial, Gaylord National Hotel & Convention Center, and Richmond Jail. Most recently, he worked as manager of business development for a national construction firm.

“George has solid and sustained commitment to our industry in the DC area,” said Manhattan Construction President John Reyhan. “His private client service expertise in the Mid-Atlantic area complements our strategy to grow Manhattan’s private-sector portfolio in this market.”

Kreis’s industry board service includes the Associated Builders & Contractors Metro Washington Chapter (1995-1999), DC Building Industry Association (2011-present), Washington Building Congress (2000-present) and the Associated General Contractors of Metropolitan Washington DC Chapter (2007-present, 2012 president)

Kreis graduated from Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.

Gordon Knapp, Senior Vice President – Southwest Florida

Gordon Knapp has joined Manhattan Construction Co. as senior vice president of Southwest Florida area. He will oversee the company’s Naples, Florida office and lead client engagement, pre-construction and construction services for the Southwest Florida region.

Knapp has 32 years of experience spanning several areas of the construction business including pre-construction, field operations, marketing, training, scheduling and technology. He has served in an executive leadership role for more than two decades. His experience also includes healthcare, high-rise, convention center, industrial and criminal justice projects. He most recently served as executive vice president at a regional construction firm.

“Gordon is a third-generation builder and a seasoned industry leader,” said Manhattan Construction President John Reyhan. “His leadership skill combined with his depth of knowledge in several different market types will serve our team members and clients in Southwest Florida well.”
