Ortiz Jail in Fort Myers Now Open

Kraft announces the October 2008 opening of Ortiz Jail Expansion in Fort Myers, FL. The $53 million facility is comprised of eight levels and 768 beds. This project is an addition to the 448-bed Core facility, which is on the same property at 2501 Ortiz Avenue.

Kraft Construction Company, Inc. is a general contractor and construction management firm specializing in commercial, government, educational, medical, hospitality and mixed-use construction. Kraft is currently celebrating its 40th anniversary of construction excellence.

First LEED Registered School in Sarasota County Opens

Kraft announces the August 2008 opening of Woodland Middle School in North Port, FL. The school is the first LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Registered school in Sarasota County. The project is seeking LEED certification from the US Green Building Council.

The new school consists of multi-story buildings on a 57.12 acre site which includes wetlands. The campus includes 10 structures totaling over 215,000 SF. Amenities at the school include basketball and tennis courts, track and field soccer, football and four baseball fields. Woodland Middle School will integrate state of the art technology in the media center and instructional /encore classes. This project was on completed on time and under the approved budget.
